Is Farmingdale Safe for Bike Riders?

A bicyclist died closing down the area for hours.

The bicyclist, Marvin Alfaro-Morales, was attempting to cross Route 110 at Del Drive at 6:30 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling south before being struck by two more vehicles, according to Suffolk County police. No arrests were made.

While there is a that runs from Massapequa through Farmingdale up to Bethpage State Park, many roads like Route 110, Conklin Street and Main Street do not have lanes for bicyclists and either are very narrow or very busy with cars.
