Live Reptile Show Visits Farmingdale Library

Jungle Bob entertained kids during winter break.

More than 100 Farmingdale children and parents came out to watch Jungle Bob's live reptile show at the during winter break.

Jungle Bob, also known as Bob Smith, is the owner of Jungle Bob's Reptile World in Centereach, a retail reptile store that showcases 200+ animals.

He visited Farmingdale on Thursday with an animal entourage that included an alligator, a blue tongued skink, an African bullfrog, a Cuban rock iguana, an albino python and many others.

"Squeals of joy, laughter and many ‘oohs and ahhs’ were heard throughout the hour long program," said Nancy Hassel, founder of Long Island Pet Professionals.  Kids in attendance held and petted many of the smaller reptiles. 

Jungle Bob’s live reptile show also includes lessons on the myths and facts about reptiles, what makes a good pet and what doesn’t, how big certain reptiles will grow and how long they will live, where the animals come from and what they need to help them live a happy, healthy life.
