Local Chain Offers Famous Wings, Craft Beers and More

Croxley's Ale House is a Main Street favorite in Farmingdale.

Best known for its mouth-watering wings and lengthy list of craft beers, Croxley's Ale House has continued to attract diners of Farmingdale for nearly three years. A small chain, Croxley's Ale House currently operates four locations in Farmingdale, Rockville Centre, Franklin Square and Manhattan.

Overview: Croxley's Ale House is a full service bar and restaurant that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere from the start. The restaurant is very casual - dimly lit, decorated in dark wood with flat screen televisions lining the walls. Located on Main Street in Farmingdale, Croxley's is in a great location no matter what your day brings. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch, a cozy dinner date or a night at the bar with friends, Croxley's is sure to accommodate.

Drinks: The bar at Croxley's boasts quite an extensive list of beers in addition to specialty cocktails. Craft beer lovers from all over Long Island are often seen venturing to Croxley's locations. With over 50 different beer choices, there is something for everybody - whether you are looking for a hard cider like Original Sin or Woodchuck, an amber ale like the Green Flash Hop Head or a dark lager like Brooklyn or Guinness.

Appetizers: Much like their beer selection, Croxley's is famous for their buffalo wings. Crispy and filled with flavor, Croxley's wings offer a ton of options to satisfy any palate like hot, medium, mild and BBQ. Wing night is triple the fun at the Farmingdale restaurant, with 10 cent wing specials Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Aside from their renowned wings, Croxley's appetizer menu features a delicious spinach and artichoke dip and crispy fried calamari. The Irish nachos, smothered in bacon, scallions and mozzarella cheese, are another great choice with large portions that could be shared between a small group.

Entrées: Lunch and dinner options at Croxley's are nothing out of the ordinary - traditional sandwiches and salads, burgers and steaks. Though seen often, the dishes are consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The buffalo chicken salad is a bit spicy if you're not a buffalo lover, but serves as a healthier alternative to a greasy sandwich and french fries. If you are craving something a bit more filling, try the Chicken Royal sandwich - topped with double smoked bacon and swiss cheese on French bread - or the flat iron steak - a juicy dish served with sauteed onions, mushrooms and mashed potatoes.

Service: When busy, especially on wing night or during a weekend rush, Croxley's Ale House can become a bit crazy, but the staff is generally very attentive and always friendly. Whether you are a regular at the bar or a first-time customer, Croxley's servers make you feel right at home.
