Update: Missing Man Found Unharmed

The 57-year-old was found in Farmingdale last time he went missing.

A  57-year-old resident of the Bayview Adult Rest Home suffering from dementia, who went missing at 8 a.m. today, was found unharmed after he walked three and half miles to the Suffolk County Police First Precinct in West Babylon.

Police say William Drew arrived at the precinct in the early afternoon.

The precinct, located at 555 Route 109 is pretty much a straight run north from Main Street in the village and about a seven-minute car ride, according to MapQuest.

This is the second time Drew has wandered off and found unharmed. He previously went missing in March and was located on Route 109 in Farmingdale. On that trek he was believed to be headed to his former home in Plainview.

Suffolk Police had issued a Silver Alert on his disappearance shortly after 1 p.m. today. Silver Alert is a program that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
