Updated: Regents Exams Cancelled, Farmingdale Schools Closed, Other Closures

A list of all the local events affected by Thursday's snow.

In accordance with NYSED regulations, Regents exams scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27 are cancelled.  Tests will be given in June 2011.  The Farmingdale midterm test schedule as originally planned will continue on Friday, Jan. 28 and information regarding rescheduling of midterms that were to take place on Thursday will be provided via the website on Friday.

Farmingdale School District is closed Thursday and all activities are cancelled.

MTA services are operating with service changes and delays. The Ronkonkoma Branch is reporting 40-60 minute delays due to equipment problems. Commuters should allow extra travel time and expect weather-related service delays.

LIRR is operating on a significantly reduced weekday AM Rush schedule, which includes the cancellation of 24 westbound AM rush trains. On , the 6 a.m. train from Farmingdale, due in Penn Station at 6:50 a.m., the 6:54 a.m. train from Central Islip, due in Penn Station at 8:06 a.m. and the 7:14 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma were canceled.

There will be no diesel train service east of Speonk on the Montauk Branch and east of Ronkonkoma on the Main Line to Greenport.

The MTA says additional suspensions may be necessary if equipment continues to malfunction because of the snow.
