The Farmingdale Fire Department will be kicking off the 24th annual Columbus Day Fair on Thursday, Oct. 4.
This year, local celebrities will be taking the stage at the festival. Bethpage resident, Nick Tangorra, a finalist on "America's Got Talent" will be performing at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5. Trish Torrales of Wantagh, Trish Torrales, a finalist in year one of MSG Varsity's Talent Show, will follow at 9 p.m.
Other musical guests including the group "Superbad" of Farmingdale, who will perform near the rear of the firehouse at 7 p.m. on Oct. 6. On Oct. 7. at 6 p.m. the rock band "ElectricDudes" will take the stage.
Farmingdale Village will play host to the traditional carnival south of Conklin Street offering all of the favorite rides of years past. The carnival will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7.
On both Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., residents can enjoy the annual street fair on Main Street. A Farmer's Market will also be open for patrons to enjoy on Sunday.
Throughout the holiday weekend, the Farmingdale Fire Department will be offering food and drinks at the firehouse on Main Street.
The Columbus Day Fair will conclude with a parade at 6 p.m. followed by a fireworks display, starting at 10 p.m. on Sunday.
