Free Presentation Planned on Affordable Health Care Act

Concerned Citizens group to offer options as Affordable Health Care Act takes effect.

The Concerned Citizens Association of Farmingdale is hosting a special presentation on how to navigate the Affordable Health Care Act on Thursday at Allen Park.

The group will meet at the the Allen Park community center at 7:30 p.m. and present an expert who will explain what options local people have in choosing a health care plan. Beginning January, 2014 most people will be required to have health care insurance.

Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council Director Stacey Villagran will present a power-point presentation, distribute handouts and answer questions regarding:

  • The coverage differences between the four health plan insurance options offered by NYS – bronze, silver, gold and platinum plans.
  • Help to select the best plan for your needs & budget
  • Determine eligibility for financial assistance to help pay for insurance
  • Help you to find the on-line insurance marketplace or complete your application. Please join us to help you to compare the NYS health care plan that’s right for you
The meeting is free and open to the public.
