Air Power Museum To Preserve Family History

Farmingdale museum to digitize photo albums for free on Memorial Day.

On Memorial Day area residents have a chance to bring their old family photos into the 21st century.

The American Airpower Museum is sponsoring a program where they will digitize family photos for free so you can share your history for generations to come.

You can bring them to the museum from 10 a.m. to4 p.m. Monday and they will give you a CD with your photos free of charge.

There is an admission charge to see exhibits at the museum.

The program, called Operation Shoebox is sponsored by Briistal Assisted Living.

“My father is gone now but what I have are precious photos of him taken over the years and when he served in Korea, said Bristal's Steve Krieger. "Rather than keeping them in a seldom seen album we have scanned these photos and can share them with our children, place them on social media and reprint them at any time for framing."
