No. 77: Attend Village Pops Concerts and Summer Movie Nights

It's the next activity on our list of 100 things to do in Farmingdale.

Pops concerts and outdoor movie screenings on Main Street's will be running throughout the summer season for all residents to enjoy.

Pops concerts will be be performed by local musicians of all ages. The shows will take place every Wednesday night this summer at 7:30 p.m. (July 6, 17, 20, 27 and Aug. 3, 10).

Aug. 3 will be a children's concert, Aug. 10 will be dedicated to WWII. The first concert of the season on June 29 was dedicated to the Civil War. 

If movies are more your thing, family-friendly flicks will be screened at the village green as well. The Oscar-nominated film, The Blind Slide is the first to be screened on July 7. Despicable Me will be July 21, Secretariat on Aug. 4, Tangled on Aug. 18 and Toy Story 3 on Sept. 1.

All of the films will begin playing a dusk and all showings start with cartoons.

Hate to sound like an old woman, but when it was Von Leeson's it was always a joy to be there. AllRead More the staff had been there for years and treated the customers like family. Food was consistently good and they never "ran out" of anything. This place shouldn't be open for business. The poor kid waiting on us last time had to come to me and tell me they had no dessert to have with coffee other than ice cream. We left him a nice tip and I told him to find a job somewhere else; he'd never make any money there. It's a great location. We just need some smart business people to run it!

The young man server was doing his best, but still eggs, potatoes, and hash, no potatoes come, begged for coffee refills, ketchup was the very bottom of a heinz bottle. The excuse was sorry we have a new cook,..something tells me that aint the only problem, how does one screw up breakfast. Sorry wont be going back any time soon, unless I see a new mngment or new owner sign.
