Question of the Day: Route 110

What improvements do you want made to the road?

Route 110 houses many Farmingdale industries and is a road residents use frequently to travel both to the north and south shores.

What improvements would you like to see be made? What areas are dangerous and need to be repaved? Are you happy with how the road is maintained? Tell us in the comments.

The biggest problem on RT>110 is that the traffic light sequences don't permit traffic to flow smoothly, plus in the area just south of the LIE,both northbound and southbound, if there is no cross traffic at the light waiting to enter RT.110,the light will still halt traffic for no reason just because it is programmed to change. We need sensors to determine when cross traffic lights should change.

Mel is correct. About 2 years ago, i had actually contacted both Suffolk county and the state to synch the lights. They emailed me that they would. But governments being governments, i guess it got lost on some beaucrats desk, so it never happened. In addition, Route 110 north of Jericho Turnpike is just a mess with small streets, lots of traffic and lots of traffic lights. This stretch needs to be widened and lights timed. Not much hope for either of these fixes.
