Airpower Museum Flyover Set

New York City residents may see low flying aircraft in the area as historic aircraft zoom in from Republic Airport.

The American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale has scheduled a commemorative flyover near the Statue of Liberty at about 1 p.m., weather permitting.

The New York Police Department issued an alert on Saturday night, letting residents know that they "may see low flying aircraft in the area."

The honor flight will consist of six historic aircraft.

The flyover is part of the museum's Labor Day celebration. Aircraft will also be on public display at the museum's facility along with a squadron of other World War II planes, vintage cars and period armor as it hosts its annual Wings, Wheels and Tracks celebration.

Flight experiences will also be available in a B-25.

The display runs through Monday, Sept. 2nd, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Labor Day weekend adult admission at the museum is $15. Senior/Veteran (with ID) admission is $10, children between 4 and 12 are asked to pay $4 and children three and under can enter for free.
