The driver of a red SUV lost control of his vehicle Tuesday and slammed into one of the bay doors of the East Farmingdale Fire Department's Station 2.
The crash took place about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday when the car veered off Wellwood Avenue at 15th Street in West Babylon.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, authorities said.
The car drove through the fire department's bay door and damaged an ambulance and a Rescue truck parked inside. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Firefighters made temporary fixes to the door and secured the scene, authorities said.
