Cops: Driver of Stolen Car Badly Hurt in Bethpage Crash
Vehicle crashes on Hicksville Road; cops say car was stolen from New York City; cops seek clues.
Nassau Police are investigating a serious car crash involving a stolen car that left an unidentified man critically hurt.
Police said the man was operating a 2007 Honda southbound on Hicksville Road in Bethpage early Wednesday when the car struck a telephone pole at Ludwig Lane. The unknown male driver was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital and was listed in critical condition, police said.
Nassau detectives said the Honda had been reported stolen in New York City earlier. The vehicle was impounded; the investigation is ongoing.

It was the second serious motor vehicle crash in the general vicinity to occur early Wednesday. A Bethpage man was killed with his car collided with a tractor-trailer on South Broadway in Hicksville early Wednesday.
