Cops: Farmingdale Man Punched Victim in the Face

The incident occurred in front of the Library Cafe in Farmingdale.

A Farmingdale man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly punched a man in the face outside the Library Cafe and then resisted arrest, cops said.

According to police, at 12:10 a.m., officers observed Brian J. Blackmore, 22, punch a 34-year-old male in the face outside of Library Cafe. As cops approached, he allegedly ran, but he was stopped a short time later.

After allegedly refusing police commands, Blackmore allegedly was flailing his arms and legs before being placed into custody. One cop sustained a right shoulder injury and was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment. Blackmore sustained pain and swelling in his face.

Blackmore's been charged with second and third-degree assault and resisting arrest. He was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
