UPDATE: Cops ID Couple Found Dead in South Farmingdale Home

A man and woman, both in their 70s, were found in a bedroom, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

UPDATE: Nassau police have identified the woman and man found dead in a South Farmingdale home Tuesday night as Ann Kaplan and Barry Kaplan.

Newsday reported the incident as a murder-suicide. But when asked for confirmation by Patch, Nassau police would not comment.  

Earlier on Wednesday, Nassau police said they were investigating the incident in which a man and woman in their 70s were found dead in a South Farmingdale home Tuesday at 8:52 p.m.

Detectives said police received a call for a well check at a Lambert Avenue residence.  When police arrived, they found the 74-year-old woman and the 73-year-old man both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. 

The bodies were removed to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.

Police initially withheld the names of the victims pending family identification.
