Cops: Man Posed as Doctor to Score Rx Drugs

A Hicksville man posed as a medical doctor and called multiple pharmacies to request fraudulent prescriptions, authorities said.

Nassau police say Adeel Riaz, 28, of 51 Lenox Avenue, represented himself as a licensed physician  between December 2013 and January 2014. During that time he called pharmacies to request prescriptions for Oxycodone and Xanax to be filled in the names of different people.

Riaz was located at his residence and placed under arrest without incident on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., according to police.
