A Uniondale man faces robbery and weapons charges after he stabbed a clerk in a store he was robbing and resisted arrest, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Syaleek Anderson, 19, of Uniondale, went to the American Mini Mart in Hicksville and stabbed a 49-year-old clerk in the back. As Anderson was placing cash in a bag, the victim ran outside and locked Anderson inside the store, police reported.
The robbery happened at 8:38 a.m. Friday, cops said.
Responding officers tried to arrest Anderson, who flailed his arms and kicked his feet to resist incarceration, detectives said.
The clerk was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in "serious condition," cops said.
Anderson was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
