A Uniondale man faces robbery and weapons charges after he stabbed a clerk in a store he was robbing and resisted arrest, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said Syaleek Anderson, 19, of Uniondale, went to the American Mini Mart in Hicksville and stabbed a 49-year-old clerk in the back. As Anderson was placing cash in a bag, the victim ran outside and locked Anderson inside the store, police reported.

The robbery happened at 8:38 a.m. Friday, cops said.

Responding officers tried to arrest Anderson, who flailed his arms and kicked his feet to resist incarceration, detectives said.

The clerk was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in "serious condition," cops said.

Anderson was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.

His family if interviewed with say "he is a good boy...he would never do something like that".Then the news will show his 1st grade picture......what a joke. This is the type of person who would kill or your family for a few dollars instead of going to work like a normal person.I am sure he is getting some type of handout from the government already. This crap needs to stop.

Another one of Obama's sons?
SueRH February 22, 2014 at 02:34 PM
I love that the clerk locked him in the store. Great job!
Lauren Niclas February 22, 2014 at 03:26 PM
@Massa… Have you seen News 12 today. This is exactly what is happening! Pathetic!!
Massa February 22, 2014 at 05:10 PM
No Lauren, I don't get news 12 anymore. Did they say what I wrote? It is such a joke.

Uniondale and Hemstead are such crappy area's. Drive around that area and see all the people out NOT working during a weekday and all the low lives hanging out on our dime. I feel bad for the people who need public assistance and deserve it. You have guys like this you give good people a bad rep. Go get a job.
SueRH February 22, 2014 at 09:31 PM
Not defending this criminal, but what are you doing driving through Hempstead and Uniondale on a weekday? Do YOU have a job? Did it ever occur to you that a lot of lower wage jobs occur at night, for example, restaurant workers? Where did you hear that this particular person was receiving government assistance? You sound awfully racist to me.
Massa February 23, 2014 at 01:25 AM
Maybe I was working Sue.... Ever think of that? Or maybe I was out shopping. I can't drive through those areas on my day off Sue? Isn't this a free country? You don't know anything about me..... So who are you to judge. A racist wouldn't write that they feel bad for people who really need public assistance. Hanging out in the middle of the day if front of a store sitting on a milk crate is not your working class citizen. Maybe you should take a drive and see for yourself.
Massa February 23, 2014 at 01:40 AM
That pisses me off that you insinuated that I am a racist. I have friends who are all different races and I have never had a problem with anyone of them. What I don't like is people who hurt people or commit crimes. I like good people who are honest and who deserve a hand, not some piece of garbage who would kill you and your family for a few bucks. The guy he stabbed is in critical condition. This guy wouldn't be robbing people and assaulting them if he had a job. Just telling it like it is.
robert February 23, 2014 at 07:53 PM
Hey SueRH...Playing the race card? Why don't you walk through these neighborhoods at night and see how far you get before one of those restaurant workers sitting on a milk box grabs your purse?
Massa February 23, 2014 at 10:15 PM
No Robert, Sue would never do that. She wants to live in a box and not deal with real life outside of her community. I was saying that those areas are crappy.... Is this not the truth? They were nice at one time until people stopped taking care of those areas. I can name many on Long Island. Those are the areas that you will get robbed or assaulted walking down the street because of the color of your skin. I am not saying this because I am a racist... I am saying because I am telling the truth.
SueRH February 23, 2014 at 10:31 PM
Why are you "sure" he's getting some kind if handout from the government already? He's from Uniondale, why did you mention Hempstead? How do you know the people you see during the day don't have late or overnight shifts? Preconceived notions and judgement.
Massa February 23, 2014 at 11:08 PM
I use to work nights. I didn't get up and go to park Blvd in Massapequa park and sit on a milk crate all day. Next you are going to tell me they have baby formula in the open brown paper bags they carry around. I mentioned Hempstead because it is just like Uniondale..... Crappy.
Massa February 23, 2014 at 11:14 PM
Maybe I am assuming that he is getting a handout from the government. Most people that have jobs and try and support themselves don't rob people.
Karen February 24, 2014 at 03:13 PM
If he was an aspiring rapper and college-bound, it is a sad day for him and his family, indeed. What a waste!
Jenkem Jones February 25, 2014 at 10:14 AM
In Oklahoma they would charge the clerk with kidnapping and committing a hate crime.
Jenkem Jones February 25, 2014 at 10:14 AM
Thirty years ago that could have been President Obama.
