Cops: Motorcyclist Dies in Crash in Farmingdale

The incident took place on Hempstead Turnpike, police say.

A motorcyclist died in a car accident Friday at 8:53 p.m. in Farmingdale, authorities said.

Nassau detectives say, the motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man, was travelling west on Hempstead Turnpike on a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  A man, 48, was heading east in a 1998 GMC Yukon and was attempting to make a left turn into 4747 Hempstead Turnpike when the motorcycle collided with the vehicle. 

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:50 p.m. by hospital personnel, according to police.

The Yukon was released from the scene after passing a brake and safety inspection. The motorcycle was impounded for safety checks. 

There were no other injuries reported and there is no criminality at this time.
