Cops: South Farmingdale Burglary Attempt

10 burglaries, one robbery reported in the area.

A South Farmingdale home was one of 10 sites of burglaries and attempted break-ins in the past week, according to Nassau County Police.

Syosset, Westbury, Hicksville, Levittown, Bethpage, Old Bethpage, and Plainview were among towns targeted in break-ins across the Second Precinct, cops said.

In South Farmingdale, a Second Avenue home reported an attempted break-in on June 21, police said. Nothing was reportedly stolen in the incident, which reportedly took place between 12 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. that day.

In addition to the burglaries, one robbery was reported in nearby Old Bethpage, cops said. Three subjects demanded items from a victim on Old Country Road at 3 p.m. June 22, police reported.

  • June 19: Burglary; Salem Gate, Hicksville; TV, laptop, CD player taken.
  • June 20: Burglary; Flamingo Road, Levittown; home broken into, nothing taken.
  • June 20: Burglary; Woolsey Avenue, Bethpage; boombox, computer stolen.
  • June 21: Burglary; Grassy Lane, Levittown; assorted jewelry stolen.
  • June 21: Burglary; Second Avenue, South Farmingdale; break-in, nothing taken.
  • June 22: Robbery; Old Country Road, Old Bethpage; three subjects demanded property from a victim.
  • June 23: Burglary; Old Counrty Road, Plainview; cash register and cash taken.
  • June 25: Burglary; Wantagh Avenue, Levittown; attempted break-in through rear window.
