Crime Report: Stealing, Shooting Arrests

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police DepartmentNassau County Police Department and New York State Police Troop L.  It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

  • James Chimenti, of Massapequa, was arrested in Farmingdale on Jan. 3 and charged with revoking parole.
  • Shauan Guo, of Corono, was arrested on Jan. 2 in East Farmingdale and charged with petit larceny.
  • John M. Manobianco, of Farmingdale was arrested at JC Penny in Sunrise Mall on Jan. 2 and charged with petit larceny.                    

Incidents

  • On Jan. 4, police arrested two men for a shooting that injured two teens at a house party in North Amityville on Dec. 31. First squad detectives charged Nnamdi Ukasoanya, 19, and Rodney Wood, 19, both of Amityville with assault and criminal use of a firearm for allegedly driving past a house party at 38 Ronald Drive East in North Amityville and firing five or six shots into a group of people standing outside the home at approximately 12:15 a.m.  
  • On Jan. 3, police received a complaint that there were repeated phone calls to a home on Wall Street by an unknown person with a blocked number.
  • On Dec. 31, two Lindenhurst men were arrested and charged with vandalizing the Farmingdale First Baptist Church on East Street in North Amityville. Police said Steven Yurcak, 19, and Jake Matthews, 18, spray-painted the exterior of a building that houses the church. The arrests were made after a caller reported two men spray painting an exterior wall at the church's location at approximately 12:50 p.m. on New Year's Eve. First Precinct officers James Knoblach and Eric Dennis responded to the call and said the suspects tagged the words “SOP” and "Shake” on the side of the building before fleeing on foot. Yurcak and Matthews were later picked up by Suffolk Police and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree. After a follow-up investigation by the Graffiti Task Force, they were charged with one count of criminal mischief in the third degree and three counts of making graffiti, police said.
