Crime Report: Cemetery Thefts, Handbags Stolen

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, and New York State Police Troop L.  It does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

  • Robert Lepolszki, of East Farmingdale, was arrested in Farmingdale on Nov. 17 and charged with narcotic drug possession with the intent to sell.
  • Rajahi Brooks, of Wyandanch, was arrested in East Farmingdale on Nov. 22 and charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

  • A Nassau County police officer remains in serious but stable condition after chasing a suspicious vehicle on the Southern State Parkway on Nov. 28, police said. The officer, a 19-year veteran from the 7th Precinct who wasn't identified, at about 12:30 p.m. Homeowners in the area of North Pine Street and South Park Drive called 911 after seeing the car in the neighborhood where there have been 10 to 14 burglaries in the last month.
  • Police reported that items were stolen from a hobby supply store on New Highway on Nov. 22.
  • Police reported that a handbag was stolen from a blue Ford Explorer at 1282 Broadhollow Road on Nov. 23. A woman went to retrieve her purse in the parking lot and found her front window broken and her brown Coach bag missing.
  • Police reported a handbag was stolen from a gray Honda Odyssey on Executive Boulevard on Nov. 23
  • Police responded to a report that 10 bronze vases were stolen from Pinelawn Cemetery on Wellwood Ave. between Nov. 21 and Nov 22.
  • Police reported a handbag and iPhone were stolen from a Honda Civic in the parking lot of LA Fitness on Route 110 on Nov. 22.
  • Jewelry was stolen from a home on Birch Ave. on Nov. 21, according to police reports.
