Crime Report: Stolen Vehicles, Drugs

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Farmingdale.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department, Nassau County Police Department, and New York State Police Troop L.  It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Dean Nunez, 23, of Deer Park, was arrested Oct. 11 and charged with fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanor for unlicensed operation and several traffic violations. Reports indicate Nunez was operating a motorcycle and was allegedly weaving in between lanes on the east side of the Southern State Parkway east of Wantagh Parkway. A Trooper stopped Nunez, and reported Nunez was operating a stolen 2007 Suzuki motorcycle without a license.  The incident occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. 
  • Matthew Ross, 63, of Copiague, was arrested Oct. 8 in East Farmingdale and charged with DWAI. Reports indicate Ross was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired and intoxicated. Reports state the incident occurred at approximately 1:48 a.m. on Route 110 in East Farmingdale.  
  • Karl Jahn, 42, of Amityville, was arrested Oct. 6 in East Farmingdale and charged with petty larceny. Reports indicate Jahn was arrested for the theft of clothing items from a store on Route 110 East Farmingdale.   
  • Michael Jasa Lafata, 39, of Massapequa, was arrested Oct. 5 in Farmingdale and charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property. Reports indicate Lafata was arrested for the possession of stolen property on Broadhollow Rd., Farmingdale.    
  • Rashawn Pernell, (unknown age) of North Amityville, was arrested Oct. 5 in Amityville and charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and Pernell reportedly had a warrant for his arrest. 
  • Lawrence Pepe, 48, of West Babylon, was arrested Oct. 5 in East Farmingdale and charged with third degree criminal trespassing. Reports indicate Pepe was arrested on Route 110, Farmingdale.  
  • Christopher Brandel, 21, of Lindenhurst, was arrested Oct. 5 and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and several traffic violations. Reports state Brandel was spotted by a Trooper on the west side of the Southern State Parkway. Reports indicate he was traveling in a black Chevrolet Lumina while allegedly making unsafe lane changes. Upon being pulled over, the trooper noticed Brandel was in possession of marijuana, and also had a suspended license. The incident occurred at approximately 3:12 p.m.
