Student, 7, Leads Earth Day Clean-Up

Albany Avenue pupil and friends take out the trash.

Albany Avenue Elementary School student Callie O’Brien, 7, invited her friends to help clean up trash along her 1-mile route to school in honor of Earth Day.

She was joined by Alessandra Barletta, Ava Masciovecchio, Nina Piazza, Miranda Piazza, Nicolina Cane, Gabby Cullen, Emma Cullen and Grace Giovanello.

The group collected two large bags of garbage along the way to the Farmingdale School.

For the past two years, Callie and her friends have walked to school on or around Earth Day to clean up garbage and do their part in keeping the Earth clean.
