East Farmingdale Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

The robbery occurred back in January, police said.

A man sought in an East Farmingdale was arrested Monday, authorities said. 

Suffolk County police said they arrested Edward Hardy, 33, of Amityville, for robbing the M&T Bank at 120 Broad Hollow Road in East Farmingdale on January 17.

That's when, according to police, the suspect had entered the bank at approximately 4 p.m., approached a teller and produced a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the robber’s demand. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

On Monday, Hardy was charged with third-degree robbery.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
