Farmingdale Firefighters Wade Into Flood Water

Rescues made at Fulton Street and Merritts Road

Farmingdale firefighters were called to the scene of a flooded underpass and cars trapped in the deluge of Friday night's storm.

The call came in just before 6 p.m. at Fulton Street and Merritts Road.

Firefighters made a forced entry to extricate occupants trapped inside their cars. Members of Farmingdale Hook, Ladder, and Hose Co. No. 1 and other emergency workers later pulled the vehicles submerged from the water, firefighters said.
