Farmingdale Man Arrested for Forging Prescriptions

Nassau County Narcotics Vice Squad arrested eleven defendants for same charge.

A 29-year old Farmingdale resident was arrested with ten others on Dec. 2 for Possession of a Forged Instrument, according to the Nassau County Narcotics Vice Squad.

Detectives reported that the defendant, Thomas Macaluso, forged stolen prescriptions to obtain opiates.

The arrests were the result of a joint operation between the Narcotics Vice Squad and the Bureau of Special Operations. The Narcotics Vice Squad is responsible for investigations of the unlawful use, possession, and sale of narcotic drugs, hallucinogenic drugs, depressants, stimulants, and cannabis, as well as investigations of gambling, loan sharking, prostitution, obscenity, pornography, and other vice related activities.

The defendants were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead.
