Farmingdale Village Fire Department Hosts Open House Friday

Safety demonstrations will be highlight of free offering tonight at fire house.

The Farmingdale Village Fire Department is inviting the public to its annual open house, scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

tonight's event is focused on fire prevention and safety and coincides with national "Fire Prevention Month."

Friday's event at the Village fire house, located at 361 Main St., will include a smoke house, where young people can experience a simulation of what it's like to be inside a burning building. Giveaways are planned for the young people and firefighters will perform several demonstrations of the methods they use to operate at the scene of an emergency.

The entire public is invited to attend this free event. Many local firefighters will be on hand to meet and greet the public.
