Help Police ID Driver Who Fled Scene of Serious N. Lindenhurst Crash

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in North Lindenhurst last fall.

Corey Hall, 29, was crossing Route 109 at East Drive when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Oct. 4, police said. 

Hall, of Brentwood, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in serious condition. Detectives located the vehicle, identified as a black 2006 Mercedes Benz CL500, registered to Benedict Bacayon, 33, of Albermarle Avenue in West Babylon. Police are asking for help identifying the driver of the vehicle.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Am I missing something? Was the car stolen? Doesn't the owner of the car know who was driving it?
