No Injuries at Elizabeth Street Fire

The fire broke out late Monday night.

No one was injured when a fire broke out at a home at the intersection of S. Front Street and Elizabeth Street Monday night.

Village of Farmingdale Fire Department units found heavy fire on the porch that was extending into the home.

The department stretched two hose lines and the exterior fire was quickly extinguished, fire officials said. The second line was extended into the home and was able to control the interior fire.

Due to the home's close proximity to the , fire vehicles  parked on the tracks and Ronkonkoma trains were held until the fire was controlled, causing delays on the 10:44 train from New York and 11:13 train from Ronkonkoma.

The fire was under control by midnight.
