Police: 4 Killed, 3 Injured in Farmingdale Crash

Four Farmingdale High School students are reportedly dead and three other people are in the hospital following a devastating crash in Farmingdale early Saturday.

According to Nassau police, the accident occurred at 12:04 a.m. when a 2001 Nissan that had been traveling westbound on Conklin Street crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with a GMC Suburban.

Three people in the Nissan–two males and one female–were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Staples Street, police said. The male driver of the Nissan, who Newsday has reported was 17 years old, was transported to the hospital, where he was also pronounced dead, police said.

The other three people killed were also teenagers and students at Farmingdale High School, according to an ABC 7 report

“I looked out my window first and then immediately was looking for a phone to call 911 and my wife was already calling 911," Chris Norce, who lives near the crash scene, told WCBS 880. "So I ran downstairs and came outside and then you saw two cars and there was two people laying on the sidewalk just, not moving."

A fifth person, a male, in the Nissan, as well as the 53-year-old male driver of the Suburban and a female passenger in the Suburban, are in the hospital in serious condition, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks as the investigation into the crash continues, police said.

Police have not released the names of any of the victims, but one of them has been identified as 15-year-old Noah Francis. A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Noah's funeral surpassed its $12,000 goal in about 15 hours.

According to the Daily News, friends have identified the other three teens killed as Farmingdale High seniors Tristan Reichle and Jesse Romero, and freshman Carly Lonnborg.
