A Farmingdale bicyclist, who was critically injured after he was struck by a car Saturday, in Melville has died, Suffolk County police said Sunday morning.
Detectives say Bruce Pye was riding a bicycle heading eastbound on Old Country Road when he collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that was attempting to make a left onto Tuxedo Drive at approximately 3:05 p.m.
Pye, 33, of Farmingdale, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, in East Meadow, in critical condition, police said.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Salvatore Ceravolo, 48, of Melville, was uninjured, and stayed at the scene, according to police.
