Police: Farmingdale Man Missing, Suicidal

South Farmingdale man drove off in rental car Saturday and hasn't been seen since.

Update: Nassau Police announced late Monday night that Joseph Borchers has been found.

Nassau Police are searching for a South Farmingdale man who they described as suicidal. Joseph Borchers, 47, was last seen at his Poplar Ave. home Saturday at about 4 p.m.

He took off in a rental car, police said, described as a dark colored Dodge Challenger with New York license plates. Authorities have a partial plate number: FSS.

Borchers is described as 5-foot-10, 180 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

The Silver Alert was issued by Nassau Police early Sunday. Call 911 if you have information.

The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
