Cops Searching for Man Who Robbed Farmingdale Cab Driver at Gunpoint

Nassau Police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Sunday at 9:25 a.m. in Farmingdale.

Detectives say a 38-year-old male taxi driver had just dropped off a fare on Main Street and Grant Avenue, when a man entered the cab.  

After he entered the taxi, the man displayed a black and silver handgun and demanded that the victim drive away. About five to 10 minutes later, the suspect then demanded cash.  The victim complied and the suspect exited the car with an undetermined amount of cash, walking northbound on North Maple Street and Simonson Place.

There were no reported injuries. 

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, with a thin build, five-foot-six, wearing baggy pants.
