Surprise Snow Should Be Gone Tuesday

What started out as wet snow late Monday should be a slushy mess this morning.

A surprisingly wet coating of snow made roadways hazardous Monday night but the precipitation turned to rain around midnight and Tuesday is expected to be all rain.

The National Weather Service said Tuesday's rain should continue mainly before noon with high temperatures near 45. That's plenty high enough to melt what remains of Monday night's snow, which has moved northeast toward New England.

New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch is possible Tuesday, the NWS said.
