Truck Crashes Into Tree in Huntington, One Seriously Injured

Huntington Manor firefighters use Jaws of Life to free trapped driver.

The driver of a pickup truck was seriously hurt after the truck slammed into a tree in Huntington Monday afternoon.  

Huntington Manor firefighters responded to the crash at Oakwood Road and Rolling Hills Drive around 1:25 p.m. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped male driver.

The driver was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad. Suffolk County Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Police said the driver's injuries were serious, "but they do not appear life-threatening."
