Village, Nassau Cops to Offer Home Safety Tips Monday

Nassau Police officer will present information at Monday's Village Board meeting.

The Village Board is handing over part of its regular Monday meeting to the Nassau Police Department, whose members will address crimes against seniors and property.

As the season for increased burglaries is upon us, representatives of the 2nd Precinct will provide a presentation on "safe-guarding your property" and "crimes against seniors."

Typically, burglaries rise during the fall and winter when the days grow shorter. Simple tips such as leaving lights on and radios playing can help prevent burglaries, officers say.

Pamphlets will be distributed and a Q & A session to address residents’ concerns.

The program is set for 8 p.m. at Village Hall on Main Street. For more information, go to the village website at  http://www.farmingdalevillage.com/
