Alesia Continues 'Gatsby' Push

Councilwoman urges TOBAY to keep reading through August.

TOBAY Councilwoman Rebecca Alesia is reminding residents that their due date for the very first "One Town, One Book" assignment is Aug. 22, when a special finale event will be held at the nearby Hicksville Community Center.

The very first town-wide book club has generated great interest at TOBAY libraries, reported Alesia, and have renewed interest in the classic film adaptation of the book starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.

"We chose 'The Great Gasby' as our inaugural book for a few key reasons, including its widespread accessibility at local libraries, its local appeal, and the many interesting parallels between the book's setting of 1920s New York and today," said Alesia.
