D'Addario & Co. Honors Rep. Peter King in Farmingdale

Congressman King accepted the NAM Award in Farmingdale for his support of manufacturers across the United States.

Rep. Peter King, R-Seaford, received the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award on Monday from the Farmingdale- based string manufacturer. D'Addario is a member of NAM and wanted recognize King for his efforts in supporting manufacturing.

"On behalf of D'Addario and Company, and our employees, I thank Congressman King for championing the causes that will help manufacturers thrive in New York, and across the United States," said Chairman and CEO of D'Addario and Company, Jim D'Addario. "We're fortunate to have Peter King in our corner, advocating politics that will enable us to grow, create jobs, expand internationally, and stay ahead of our global competition."

Members of Congress who maintained a voting record of 70 percent or above during the 111th congress (2009-2010) received this award.  King maintained a 75 percent rating.  "D'Addario is a wonderful company, that represents our willingness and ability to create and maintain jobs right here in America.  I am honored to accept this award here, and promise to work at keeping D'Addario and companies alike alive and well," King said at the ceremony.

Before concluding the ceremony, King responded to a question raised about the r.  "A lot has been done, but there is still more that has to be done," King said.  He assured the people in attendance, as well as D'Addario employees, that he is working on ensuring that D'Addario products are only manufactured and sold by D'Addario.
