Election Signs: Time to Take Them Down

Share your thoughts in our Soapbox - Gov't Matters open blog.

Many people have been upset about the number of signs that have remained up after elections conclude, stating that it is the equivalent of litter.

Now that Election Day is over, what do you think is a reasonable time frame for all the political campaign camps to start cleaning up those yard and pole signs used in the campaign? One week? 48 hours?

We posted the above question on Farmingdale Patch's Facebook page and got the following comments:

  • Maria J. DiChiara Hamlin: ASAP the election is over. No need to keep them all over the place.
  • Kenneth Tortoso: Day after.
  • Craig Yo Anderson: While they are at it they should clean the road of debris also.
  • Julia Lauria Blum: ASAP.
  • Rick Ferrari: Yesterday.
  • Dolores McMonagle: The morning after! It's also nice to watch T.V. again without getting bombarded with all those ads.
We want to know what you think is a good time frame to get the signs taken down. Click here or tell us in the comments section below.
