Town of Oyster Bay - Town Board Meeting, Hearings Scheduled on Proposed Contracts for Fire Protection & On Proposed Fire Hydrant Rental

Proposed contracts for fire protection for calendar year 2011 will be the subjects of Tuesday, January 18, 2011, public hearings by the Oyster Bay Town Board, according to Town Councilman Anthony D. Macagnone.     

According to Councilman Macagnone, contracts with the following fire companies will be considered: Bayville Fire Company No. 1, East Norwich Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Farmingdale Fire Company, Glenwood Hook & Ladder Engine and Hose Company No. 1, Oyster Bay Fire Company No. 1 and Atlantic Steamer Company No. 1, Plainview Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., and Roslyn Fire Company-Highlands and Roslyn Fire Company-Rescue, as well as the Wantagh Fire District, which covers Tobay Beach.

The Councilman noted that all contracts are for one year, except Oyster Bay Fire Company No. 1 and Atlantic Steamer Company No. 1, which are five-year contacts with a three percent increase each year.

Also, a proposed contract for the rental of fire hydrants from the Oyster Bay Water District for calendar year 2011 will be the subject of Tuesday, January 18, public hearing by the Oyster Bay Town Board, according to Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano.

"The hearing will concern the proposed contract with the Oyster Bay Water District for the rental of fire hydrants at an agreed upon per annum rental fee for the period of January 1, 2011, through December 31, 2011," Councilman Coschignano explained.

The hearing will be held in the Hearing Room of Town Hall North, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Following the regular Town business, the Town Board will be available to listen to public comment on any subject.
