The Long Island Rail Road is expected delays and cancellations Tuesday morning after a derailment Monday night west of Jamaica Station.
LIRR customers are being advised to allow extra travel time and check traffic reports Tuesday morning. The LIRR expects some train cancellations will result following the derailment of a non-passenger train west of Jamaica Station Monday. No one was hurt in the incident, the railroad said.
That will impact trains on the Ronkonkoma through Farmingdale and Bethpage stations.
The railroad said its personnel are working through the night to clear up the derailment and repair track damage, but morning peak service will be affected.
Check the MTA web site Tuesday morning for details on delays, cancellations or diversions.
