Hannon to Host Free Prostate Screening at Bethpage

Free testing available at Bethpage Public Library on Sept. 24.

State Sen. Kemp Hannon will host free prostate screenings Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 3-5 p,m., at the Bethpage Public Library, located at 47 Powell Ave., Bethpage.

"Prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of male cancer-related death,” said Hannon, R, Garden City. “Few things are more frightening, confusing, or devastating than a diagnosis of cancer, but the good news is that if detected early, prostate cancer is treatable.”

Hannon urges all men, aged 40 and up, who have not been previously treated for prostate cancer, to make an appointment. The screenings are performed by appointment by Integrated Medical Foundation, Inc., and have no out-of-pocket costs.
