Village of Farmingdale residents can submit comments on the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) until Friday, July 22.
The statement, , is an environmental review of the proposed Downtown Master Plan that takes all aspects of downtown development into consideration.
As the Downtown Master Plan was being drafted, New York State awarded a (BOA) Step 2 Nomination Study grant to the village, and for additional studies.
As part of the BOA Program, the DGEIS and BOA Nomination Study have been combined into one document to fulfill both requirements.
The DGEIS/BOA Nomination Study is available in the gallery above, at www.farmingdalevillage.com and in hard copy at Village Hall and Farmingdale Public Library.
Written comments on the DGEIS/BOA Nomination Study will be accepted until Friday, July 22 and can be sent either by mail or email to Brian Harty, Village Clerk at Village Hall, 361 Main Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735 or email@example.com.
In 2006, the village began a visioning process to revitalize the downtown area and in 2009 Trustees drafted a master plan document to guide development in Downtown Farmingdale over the next 25 years.
After this comment period, will approve a final GEIS and consider zoning changes in the downtown area. Adoption of the master plan is slated for the fall.
