If I see one more Join Me Barack Hussein Obama political ads on Patch I'm going to puke.
paul October 10, 2012 at 02:50 am
I complained about the same thing to the Patch weeks ago..
I guess a paid ad is a paid ad.. I hate it so much, it is disgusting.........

Thor: Any chance you could come out. I'd like to meet you. I heard the food was going to be good. Please consider it. Best.. jd

Thomas and Paul: They are paid ads.

How about the insipid, self-aggrandizing, drive-by/no-comments allowed posts by Steve Labate? Paid or opportunistic?
Vincent October 10, 2012 at 12:36 pm
Nassau Taxpayer already has obama winning this debate at the UFCW (whatever that stands for) hall. Anyone whose major issue is keeping taxpayer money going to big bird gets his vote.
Rich Jacques (Editor) October 10, 2012 at 01:01 pm
Thor: To answer your question directly, I hear your concerns regarding the choice of venues. I can understand why you feel that a union hall is not the best choice. I will bring it up to management and report back to you what the reasoning is behind their decision.
Vincent October 10, 2012 at 02:00 pm
Rich Jacques: I hope managements answer is that AOL/Huffington Post which the Patch is affiliaetd with is left leaning. Or tilted if they prefer. But at a union hall? Wow!
Strug Lynn October 10, 2012 at 02:33 pm
I am so sick of looking at Barack and Michelle on the Patch, I come here very rarely now. I don't care if it is paid, if you want to claim to be impartial, you are doing a poor job of showing it.
Strug Lynn October 10, 2012 at 02:35 pm
Oh, and I am in a LI union and we are being told to support Obama and Carolyn McCarthy (the one trick pony). Just saying.
Nassau Taxpayer October 10, 2012 at 03:27 pm
Big Bird, Inc. pays taxes and creates jobs.
Romney says he's all about jobs? He's all about posturing -- and putting his dog on the roof of his station wagon, and hosing it it off when the dog expresses his discontent with that treatment.
Vincent October 10, 2012 at 03:52 pm
Nassau Taxpayer: Let's play a game of do you know where your tax money goes? Sesame Workshop CEO makes $684,000. Your tax dollars at work! But you knew that didn't you?
Nassau Taxpayer October 10, 2012 at 04:13 pm
Your PBS contribution at work, vinnie. Not to mention the success of Sesame Street, Inc.

Big Bird has factories in China churning out lead based toys.
Barak says dog taste like chicken.

Thank you Rich.
Joe, I think I will pass.

His total compensation is closer to $1 million. A bit high for an organization with $140 million in revenue. But not outrageous. And almost none of it comes from tax dollars.
One third of their revenue comes from combined corporate, foundation and government support. But in reality no direct Federal money goes to Sesame Street, a very small amount goes through PBS. So it's really a non-issue.
JOE October 11, 2012 at 11:27 am
How about the amount of people that have or are collecting unemployment/food stamps / welfare beacuse of people like Romney who buy companies to strip them and downsize them for profit? the answer , too many people to count them all

You are probably not being "told". They are advising you to vote for the cadidate who is NOT looking to get rid of you and your union. Romney hates unions and worker rights . The fact that you are a union member should alone be the reason that you vote for Obama

Hey everyone,
Thanks for commenting. We have held gatherings and sponsored events with all sorts of organizations. In this case, the union hall happens to be where the event is being held. They will have zero influence on our debate coverage other than as one of many participants at the party. Speaking of which, we have extended this offer to all sorts of people and organizations, both conservative and liberal. We extend the offer to all of you. We control the invite list. The union does not. We hope to see you there. Just remember to RSVP. If not, we hope you're on our live blog that night, taking part. Enjoy the last few weeks of the campaign. Hate to sound like an old woman, but when it was Von Leeson's it was always a joy to be there. AllRead More the staff had been there for years and treated the customers like family. Food was consistently good and they never "ran out" of anything. This place shouldn't be open for business. The poor kid waiting on us last time had to come to me and tell me they had no dessert to have with coffee other than ice cream. We left him a nice tip and I told him to find a job somewhere else; he'd never make any money there. It's a great location. We just need some smart business people to run it!

went there for breakfast the morning of the fair several weeks ago. First, how do you screw upRead More breakfast order? The young man server was doing his best, but still eggs, potatoes, and hash, no potatoes come, begged for coffee refills, ketchup was the very bottom of a heinz bottle. The excuse was sorry we have a new cook,..something tells me that aint the only problem, how does one screw up breakfast. Sorry wont be going back any time soon, unless I see a new mngment or new owner sign.

. This place is just not good. There is nothing appealing about poor service and absolutely horribleRead More food. It should have stayed closed when it went out of business not long ago. I hope the employees can find another means .
