Part of Route 110 to Be Renamed for Conte

A stretch of Route 110  in Huntington is about to be named for the late Assemb. James Conte.

The State Assembly last week unanimously approved the legislation, sponsored by Conte's successor, Chad Lupinacci, that adds the name "Assemblyman James D.  Conte Memorial Highway" to the road, stretching from Jericho Turnpike to Main Street in Huntington.

Conte represented the district, which includes Huntington Station, Melville and part of Farmingdale, for 24 years. He died at age 53  last October after a battle with cancer.
