Tell Us: Cell Towers?

The village has been approached by another cell carrier; is it a good idea?

A wireless leasing company has approached the looking to acquire space on the

Unison made the offer Monday night at a work session and is offering the village $2.8-$3.1 million in cash to lease the site for an estimated 40 years.

If acquired, Unison will received all revenue streams from the five existing cell carriers that occupy the water tower. Board members estimated that the village currently receives $25,000 total per month from all carriers at the site.

Is this a good idea?

Is not enough known about cell towers to move forward?

Does the financial package for Farmindale sound good to you?

that is not a good deal. just do the math. $25,000.00 a month times 12 =$300,000.00 a year that the village is making now. $300,000.00 times 40 years =$12,000,000.00 thats 12 million why should the village accept any less.

PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!
My 9 year old can figure the math on this one. Besides the 3.1 mil that the town gets will be long gone before 40 years. Then where will we get the money from? How many jobs will have to be cut to subsidize the revenue we would have had! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT DO IT !!!!!!!! ALL OF OUR CHILDREN WILL SUFFER ON THIS ONE. Let's not be the donkey going after the carrot on this one.

There's a little concept in economics called "future value of present funds", Yes, they may make a total of 12 million over 40 years, but what is the value of receiving 3 million today, 40 years from now? Assuming a 5% return, it's right about 13 million.
Not knowing simple highschool economics is the reason so many in our country make bad economic decisions. Just because you can add and multiply doesn't mean you recognize the broader value of capital resources.

Hate to sound like an old woman, but when it was Von Leeson's it was always a joy to be there. AllRead More the staff had been there for years and treated the customers like family. Food was consistently good and they never "ran out" of anything. This place shouldn't be open for business. The poor kid waiting on us last time had to come to me and tell me they had no dessert to have with coffee other than ice cream. We left him a nice tip and I told him to find a job somewhere else; he'd never make any money there. It's a great location. We just need some smart business people to run it!

The young man server was doing his best, but still eggs, potatoes, and hash, no potatoes come, begged for coffee refills, ketchup was the very bottom of a heinz bottle. The excuse was sorry we have a new cook,..something tells me that aint the only problem, how does one screw up breakfast. Sorry wont be going back any time soon, unless I see a new mngment or new owner sign.

. This place is just not good. There is nothing appealing about poor service and absolutely horribleRead More food. It should have stayed closed when it went out of business not long ago. I hope the employees can find another means .
