Tell Us: Preemptive Strike on North Korea?

North Korea has moved a missile with a “considerable” range to its east coast, but it was not capable of reaching the United States, the New York Times reported Thursday.

The disclosure came as the Communist North’s military warned it was ready to strike American military forces with “cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means,” the Times reported. U.S. experts doubt the beligerant communist country has the capability of hitting most U.S. targets.

Rep. Peter King, R-Seaford, says the United States should be if necessary, against North Korean military forces if provoked or endangered. The Congressman, who represents a large segment of the South Shore including South Farmingdale and formerly represented part of Plainview, said Korea is posing a real threat to stability in that part of the world.
