Video: Protesters Defend Union Rights, Education Spending at Rally

MoveOn.org sponsored a protest on Main Street in Farmingdale on Tuesday.

More than 40 supporters of union rights and other issues voiced their opinions at the "Defend the Dream" protest on Main Street in Farmingdale on Tuesday.

The protest was organized by John Moore, a Farmingdale resident involved with the groups Organizing for America, the Long Island Progressive Coalition and MoveOn.org, the organization that officially sponsored the protest.

Protesters chanted about the Republican attacks on workers and public programs currently escalating in Wisconsin and Washington D.C. They also defended and spoke against the tea party movement.

"I grew up in a America that said if you work an honest day you make an honest dollar," said Bob McKay, a Long Island teacher and representative from MoveOn.org. "I want my America back."
