Albany Avenue School's Fun Run

More than 500 turn out for festivities in Farmingdale.

More than 500 members of the Farmingdale community came together on April 1 to participate in the third annual "5K Race, Run Fun and Funfest."

The race, which included a one mile “fun run” to engage students of all ages to participate in regular exercise and healthy living habits, raised funds to honor those who have made a difference in their community, including Navy pilot Christopher Adams, an Albany Avenue graduate who lost his life in a terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to create  murals to the school’s walls.  The first mural will be depicting Adams' plane.
