Concert Planned to Support Farmingdale Family

The concert will benefit Jimmy Ossenfort, 21, who is in critical condition.

The community has planned a to support the Ossenfort's, a Farmingdale family whose son suffered life threatening injuries in a November accident.

The Friday night concert will take place on Jan. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at .

According to concert organizers, 21-year-old Jimmy Ossenfort was acting as the designated driver for a group of his friends the weekend before Thanksgiving. He drove all of his friends home safely but on his way home himself he fell asleep at the wheel, crashed into a tree and suffered life-threatening injuries. He remains hospitalized in grave condition at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he has undergone dozens of surgeries to treat his injuries.

"Sadly, Jimmy sustained significant trauma to his brain and his outlook is bleak," said Jackie Costello, the mother of a performer at the planned concert, adding that Jimmy's mother Barbara has remained at his bedside for the majority of his hospitalization.

The goal is to collect donations for Jimmy's medical bills and all proceeds will go directly to the Ossenfort family. Black Honey, a rock band that is comprised of Farmingdale High School students/alumni Mark Morales (drummer), Ryan Costello (lead guitar), Zack Reyes (bass), Matt Ferrara (rhythm guitar) and Dakota Clayton (vocals), will headline the concert with possibly some other musical acts. There will also be baked goods on sale in the hallway outside of the auditorium.

Barbara has three younger children in the district, Kerrie, Christopher and Timothy, who attend the high school, and

"It's never too late for a miracle," the organizers said.
